Catamount
Fishing Adventures and The Old Stagecoach Inn offer a comprehensive
fly-fishing school with all the amenities. The ideal scenario
for the beginner to intermediate angler who wishes to build
a strong foundation for a lifetime of fly-fishing pleasure.
The three-day private school will be hosted by The Old Stagecoach
Inn and your teacher is a certified casting instructor through
the Federation of Fly Fishers.
The three-day
school will be geared to each individual's learning curve
as we cover the basics skills needed to pursue wily river
trout. The first day begins at The Old Stagecoach Inn where
each angler will become familiar with the equipment, casting
techniques, and knots. Then off to a wonderful dinner at a
local restaurant and a good nights rest at the Old Stagecoach
Inn. After a bountiful breakfast, you and your guide will
meet for a day of fun and learning on the river. You will
gain knowledge in reading the water in a trout stream, fly
presentation, entomology (studying bugs!), and the overall
ability to handle a fly rod. Of course this will be broken
up with a relaxing lunch and a session in fly tying. Upon
completion of this insightful day, it will be back to The
Old Stagecoach Inn for another relaxing evening broken up
by another wonderful dinner at a local eatery. The next morning
after breakfast it will be back to the river to bring everything
that has been learned full circle in an attempt to tug on
some of Vermont's trout population. The school will conclude
by noon and you will depart with an unparallel fly-fishing
knowledge.
The school
will cost $550 for a single angler and $475 per angler for
a group of two to four persons. The school is limited to a
maximum of four anglers and reservations are required. This
will include five meals, two-night stay at The Old Stagecoach
Inn, equipment, and flies. Fishing licenses, gratuity, and
tax are additional.
