Nearby are four major ski resorts: Stowe, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen and Bolton Valley, offering some of the best skiing/snowboarding/x-country skiing in Vermont. Snowshoeing opportunities can be found right out the back door and VAST (Vermont Association of Snow Travelers) snowmobile trails can be accessed nearby also. When it's warmer, these same mountains provide awesome hiking, backpacking, mountain biking and camping possibilities. Running right behind our Inn, the Winooski River offers great canoeing and kayaking, as well as some of the best fly fishing waters in New England. Additionally, the Waterbury Reservoir is a great resource for all water sports. For the relaxed traveler or for those who have had their fill of outdoor activities there are loads of other attractions including Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory (which has factory tours), The Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Cabot Cheese Creamery, and many others including abundant antique stores and a fine array of restaurants for all tastes. |
